revival of
textile mills
QUETTA: Iran has offered Rs 300 million for the refunctioning of two textile mills setup in Balochistan one at Balei near Quetta and another at Tuthal near Hub.
The sources told PPI on Saturday that these two mills were setup by Pakistan and Iran as joint venture in late 70s but just after one year these mills stopped functioning and have been lying defunct since 1981.
The sources further said that some 3000 employees both officers and other were being paid till 1993 and thereafter they were finally paid off.
Efforts were made several times for the revival of these two textiles mills without bearing any fruit.
