ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Television's Independence Day package has been a great success and the corporation has earned an income of Rs 2.5 crore from its sale to advertisers on August 13 and 14.

According to PTV sources, the two special plays produced for the occasion, 'Chup Darya', written by Hasina Moeen and directed by Mohsin Ali and 'Shanakht', written by Asghar Nadeem Syed and produced by Yawar Hayat proved to be great hits.

The package supervised personally by the new PTV MD Mrs. Raana Shaikh was equally a great financial success and a PTV sources disclosed that they had a line of advertisers ready to sponsor each programme and the advertisement income in the two days soared to 25 million rupees.-APP
