NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling opened unchanged against the dollar on Thursday but strengthened marginally against the pound, commercial bank traders said.

The shilling was posted at a commercial bank mean rate of 55.35 against the dollar, retaining the same mid-rate held at the close on Wednesday. Against the pound, it strengthened to a mean rate of 85.74 from 85.91 at Wednesday's close.

Commercial bank traders said the shilling's slight strengthening against sterling reflected cable cross rates.-Reuter
