3 key figures

after 30 years

JAKARTA: The Indonesian authorities have released three key figures jailed nearly thirty years ago for their alleged part in the coup attempt which led to massive reprisals against communist sympathisers.

The release came on the eve of Indonesia's 50th anniversary of independence from Duch colonial rule, reported BBC.

The three men, a former vice prime minister, the former air force chief of staff and the former intelligence chief were pardoned last month by President Suhorto.-PPI
