BOMBAY: Sugar prices were unchanged in the local market in light-volume trade, dealers said.

Major players did not make any fresh commitments as they were awaiting September's quota, said a dealer. "Market expectations are in the range of 690,000-700,000 tonnes," he said. India had released 670,000 tonnes for sale in the open market for August.

Ready S-30 was quoted at 1,230-1,262 rupees a quintal and M-30 at 1,242-1,345. Sugar mill delivery was traded at 1,165-1,185 rupees a quintal and imported sugar (China) at 1,180/1,190. -Reuter
