ISLAMABAD: Indian independence day was observed a Block Day by the Kashmiris living in Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, occupied Kashmir and other parts of the world.

Protest rallies were taken out by the Kashmiris on Tuesday, August 15 against the denial of internationally recognized right to self-determination to them by India.

The protestors called upon India to honour her commitments made at various international fora, including the United Nations, and asked her to withdraw her 'occupation forces' from the held Kashmir.

They slated India for perpetrating brutalities on the innocent Kashmiri people who want nothing but their 'inherent right to self-determination.

They said the demonic Indian troops, busy in the carnage of Kashmiris "cannot overcome the power of faith" and predicted that they will have to kow-tow before the valiant Kashmiri freedom fighters.

They were of the view that the United Nations must take concrete steps to get its relevant resolutions on Kashmir implemented. They said the dougle standards being pursued by the world body have harmed its credibility and it may meet the fate of the League of Nations which collapsed after failing to stop Italian aggression.

The protestors called upon peace-loving nations of the world to press India to grant the inalienable right to self-determination of the Kashmiris.

They observed that the peace-loving countries of the world should sever diplomatic and trade ties with India "if it does not agree to stop terrorism in Kashmir and honour her commitments" regarding plebiscite in Kashmir.

They said the Kashmiris are the sole arbitrators of their destiny, and made it clear that no imposed resolution of the lingering Jammu and Kashmir dispute will be accepted.

"The issue can only be resolved through implementation of the relevant UN resolutions," they noted.-PPI
