SINGAPORE: Asian dollar deposits were little changed in listless trade, dealers said.

They said most traders were sidelined ahead of tonight's 1315 GMT release of the US July industrial production and capacity utilization data.

Industrial production for July is forecast to show a decline of 0.2 percent compared with a 0.1 percent gain reported in June. Capacity utilization for July is expected to slip to 83.1 percent against June's 83.5 percent.

"The market was quiet and featureless in the morning on lack of fresh incentives," a local dealer said.

"There was no fresh news today and most people are waiting for tonight's industrial production and capacity utilization figures for more signs about the state of the (US) economy and inflation," he said.

In short dates, Tuesday/Wednesday rose 1/16 percentage point to 6 5-7/8 percent. Wednesday/Thursday and week-fixed were unchanged from Monday's common 5-15/16 5-13/16 percent.

Among term rates, one- and three-months were unchanged from Monday's common 5-15/16 5-13/16 percent, Six-months was unchanged at 6 5-7/8 and twelve-months unchanged at 6-1/16 5-15/16 percent.-Reuter
