ISLAMABAD: A delegation of All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) met the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Khalid Ahmed Khan Kharal here on Tuesday.

According to a press release, during the meeting, the delegation apprised the minister of the difficulties/problems of newspaper industry due to price hike of newsprint in the international market and requested the government to provide immediate relief by withdrawing the duty and sales tax on newsprint. They also briefed the minister about the outstanding dues on account of advertisements and solicited for its early clearance.

The delegation includes, Mustafa Sadiq, President APNS; Meer Javed-ur-Rehman, General Secretary APNS; Kazi Asad Abid, Senior Vice President APNS; Altaf Hussain Qureshi, Akber Ali Bhatti and Jamil Athar.

Secretary Information Haji Mohammad Akram and Principal Information Officer Ismail Patail also attended the meeting.-APP
