QUETTA: The Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto has accorded approval for the construction of Moola Dam near Khuzdar in Balochistan.

This was stated by Qazi Aleemullah, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission at his meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi here on Sunday.

Qazi Aleemullah said the federal government would soon undertake work on the project to preserve the river water which would be used for irrigation purposes.

It is to mention here that during recent rains and hill torrents Moola Dam had swept away.

The chief minister said we do not have any objection to the implementation of peoples programme in Balochistan but we have objection in its procedure. He said we stand for involvement of public representatives in the development projects.-PPI
