reiterates support

for Kashmir

LONDON: Kashmir is a disputed matter and it should be resolved according to the UN resolutions, Gerald Kaufman MP and a former Shadow Foreign Secretary of Labour Party, said here.

Addressing a big gathering of Pakistanis and Kashmiris held at Manchester to mark the Independence Day of Pakistan on Saturday, Kaufman said this was exactly the policy of the Labour Party.

Pakistan, he said, is a great nation. Pakistanis had struggled very hard in Britain.

He said Labour members supporting the Kashmir cause were trying make the Kashmir issue a central part of Labour Party policy. He said he planned to visit both parts of Jammu and Kashmir next month and would submit a report on his return.

He said in keeping with his past, he would continue to serve the cause of Kashmir and Pakistan in the British Parliament.

Pakistan's Counsellor in Manchester Ishtiaq Hussain Andarabi said that the Pakistani community should make united efferts to contribute to the development and progress of the country.

Children dressed in Pakistani dress and traditional outfits of the four provinces presented a programme which was greately appreciated.-APP
