HC in Nairobi
asked to ensure
fishermens' release
ISLAMABAD: The Minister Incharge of Foreign Affairs N.D. Khan on Sunday said the government has asked the Pakistani High Commission in Nairobi (Kenya) to make sure that the fishermen held by Somalia are released at the earliest.
Speaking in the National Assembly on a calling attention notice by Zafarullah Khan and Javed Hashmi, he hoped, the fishermen will be released soon.
N.D. Khan said the government is also in contact with the United Nations authorities through its headquarters in New York to help in their early release.
He said Somali warlord General Aideed has not asked for any ransom for fishermen's release as reported in the press.
"On the contrary, it seems they have been held up because of some misunderstanding on part of the Somali authorities," Khan added.-APP
