KARACHI: A Pakistani woman traveller was deprived of $5,000 at London's Heathrow Airport while she was travelling to Karachi via Moscow by the Aerofloat flight SU-244 on August 6.

According to Mrs. Dureshahwar Nazir, when she arrived at the Heathrow Airport to board the Aerofloat flight, the handling staff weighed her luggage which consisted of a suitcase and a handbag and issued her tags and the boarding card. On arrival at Moscow the luggage was transferred to another Aerofloat flight SU-543. When she arrived at Karachi on August 7, she found the combination lock of her suitcase broken and her purse containing $5,000 and a pocket watch missing.

The lady has accused the handling staff of Heathrow Airport of stealing her purse as the staff might have detected the purse in the suitcase during screening of the luggage which was not performed in the presence of the passenger, concerned contrary to the practice being followed at all international airports.

Mrs. Dureshahwar Nazir has sent complaints to Manager Aerofloat, Manager, Heathrow Airport and Chief Constable of Scotland Yard.
