LONDON: Altaf Hussain, the founder leader of MQM declared here that Dr Imran Farooq, Secretary General of MQM is "national hero" and said the news disseminated through the newspapers against him is the height of desperate disinformation campaign launched by the Government.

Commenting of news on Dr Imran Farooq and what he called "psychological war" perpetuated against the Mohajirs by the Government, he said every individual worker and supporter is fully aware that Dr Imran Farooq's "loyalty, devotion and sincerity" is beyond any doubt, and he commands full faith and respect not only of Altaf Hussain, but of the whole nation", the sacrifices rendered by Dr Imran for the cause of the MQM and its fellow followers is now a glorious part of history and democratic struggle, he emphasized.

He called upon his followers to further strengthen their unity at all levels to face the new challenges of the state to "disintegrate the Mohajirs". He said they should not be misled by the "cheap propaganda and disinformation campaign launched by the state against MQM".

Altaf Hussain said "the Government in its anti-Mohajir campaign has committed gross violation of legal constitutional existing provisions of law and human rights".

He said silence of even most sensitive organizatins, champions of democracy and prominent political and religious leaders, human rights organizations over the "tyranny, atrocities and killing of Mohajirs through state sponsored agents is surprising".

He said the Government could not be "absolved of responsibilities of the present killings in Karachi and its attempt to create an official faction of the MQM".

Altaf Hussain expressed his full confidence on his party leaders, fellow companions workers and Dr Imran Farooq and paid them rich tributes for their sacrifices and contributions to the cause of the party and Mohajir community as a whole.-PPI
