HYDERABAD: The kidnapped head of the Department of Pathology, Liaquat Medical College Hospital, Dr Hassan Memon was released here on Thursday morning after 15 days.

The kidnappers left him on the National Highway near Halla Taluka Hospital from where he returned to his ome situated inn Baldia Colony.

Dr Hassan Memon was picked up by some unknown persons on July 2 from Baldia Colony when he was on his way to offer Fajr prayers.

After his kidnapping, the Senior Superintendent of Police had constituted a committee for the recovery of the doctor which, except for aggresting at least 40 persons, did nothing.

Reliable sources said that an amount of Rs 40 lakh had been given to the kidnappers for the release of Dr Hassan Memon.

Denying the payment of ransom money Memon family said that Dr Hassan Memon was released as he was suffering from high blodd pressure.
