Comex copper
settles weaker
NEW YORK: Comex copper settled lower in thin trading that remains rangebound as the dearth of market moving news continued.
"The number of moves was very low. There was a bit of selling on the Comex September to LME September, but it's getting a bit too late to get involved in arbitrage there now," said a trader.
"Everything is rangebound until we can manage to break out of the range," the trader added.
September COMEX closed at 136.40 cents a lb, down 0.45 cent, and traded between 137.40 and 135.90 cents a lb.
Volume was an estimated 7,500 lots compared to Wednesday's official 5,477.-Reuter
