Business loans rise

NEW YORK: Commercial and industrial loans at the eight major New York banks, excluding acceptances, rose $1.062 billion to $41.109 billion in the week ended August 2, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said on Thursday.

Including acceptances, loans rose $1.039 billion to $41.411 billion.

Commercial paper outstanding nationally rose $3.640 billion to $651.700 billion.-Reuter
