KARACHI: The Mughal Garden at Karachi Zoo, has been reopened for the people.

The KMC has decided to take a number of steps to create a natural environment at Karachi Zoo for the visitors and these are being implemented forthwith.

The KMC has decided to plant a large number of palm and coconut trees within the zoo premises. Grass will also be grown inside the animal cages. The supply of water and food for animals at the designated place would be ensured.

According to KMC it has been decided to have such variety of grass in its parks which could grow in minimum time with lesser water consumption. While planting trees it will be ensured that these matched with Karachi's climatic conditions and produced leaves in all seasons.

The Director Parks has been directed to see that his staff for parks is seen working in the parks and not at any one's home.

It was cautioned that should any employee was found absent from duty during surprise check, action will be taken against the head of department concerned.

As a matter of policy the KMC will not plant such trees whose roots were not far expanding and which remained green in all seasons.ÑAPP
