Pakistan Day parade rehearsal
ISLAMABAD: A rehearsal of the Pakistan Day parade was held at Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam here on Sunday. Marching and mechanised columns of the Army, Navy, Air Force and contingents of para military forces and Sindh police participated in the rehearsal. Rs 60,000 to be spent on new pitch
RAHIM YAR KHAN: A meeting of the divisional sports committee was held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Bahawalpur Commissioner Syed Masoom Ahmed Shah. During the meeting commissioner approved a grant of Rs 60,000 for the preparation of new pitch of cricket ground at Mehmood Stadium here. The Bahawalpur Divisional Cricket Association (BDCA) thanked the commissioner for granting funds for a new pitch. BDCA General Secretary, Ch. Ghulam Abbas, Ch. Ashraf, Ihteshamulhaq and Mustafa Jablan attended the meeting. APP
Four cars impounded
DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Border Military Police (BMP) check post Bewata (DG Khan) took into possession four non-paid custom duty cars with fake number plates on Saturday. These cars were being smuggled from Afghanistan to Punjab via Balochistan. A case has been registered against the drivers and further investigations are in progress. APP

LAHORE: Prize-bonds number mafia, which is active in various parts of the provincial metropolis, is fleecing the people in connivance with the police. According to a survey this illegal business is going on at various places including Bhatti Gate, Mozang, Chouburji, Ichrra, Gulberg etc., and the unscrupulous elements are plundering the innocent people. LAHORE: A one-window operation scheme has been launched in the Road Research and Material Testing Institute (RRMTI) to broaden clientage base from the private sector for generating revenue. Urologists to attend national conference
LAHORE: Pakistani urologists, having international repute in their profession, will participate in a two-day national conference of urology which begins in here from March 28. The President, Pakistan Association of Urology Surgeons (Paus) and noted urologist Prof. Farrukh Ahmed Khan told APP on Sunday. He said Pakistani urologists, who have established their credentials in the field of urology, will attend the conference and present research and scientific papers which would be the main source of guidance for the students of urology and post-graduates. Furthermore, he said Prof. Adeeb Rizvi who pioneered urology in Pakistan and established a number of urology institutes, would be awarded a life time achievement award in recognition of his services in the field of urological sciences.
