Highway robbery bid foiled

FAISALABAD: The Jhang Police has foiled a highway robbery bid in the area of Athara Hazari Police Station on Sunday.

On an information that three armed persons were standing on the road between Abdullahpur Basti and Chalanwala, three policemen boarded on a truck reached the spot.

The truck was stopped by the robbers which led to the exchange of fire. One Ahmed sustained bullet injury and was arrested, while two accused managed to flee way. The police recovered one 30-bore pistol and 5 cartridges from the injured dacoit.

Meanwhile the identity of the fleeing robbers has also been established and their arrest is expected within next few hours.
