Charged parking

KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is starting charged parking on the cemented portion of the inside of Burns Garden from Monday.

The KMC has initiated this scheme to provide better parking facilities to motorists coming to Income Tax Department and Sindh Secretariat.

The KMC's Estate and Engineering Departments have surveyed the area to be used for parking.

According to the KMC the initiation of parking scheme inside the Burns Garden will, in no way, affect the visitors to National Museum.

It may be mentioned here that the KMC has resolved the parking problem on the road from Arts Council to Shaheen Complex. Visitors to Shaheen Complex and adjoining localities have been provided charged parking facility on the parking space of KMC's newly constructed Faizi Rehamin Auditorium.

With the initiation of charged parking schemes on I I Chundrigar Road has greatly resolved the problem of parking.

Sources said that various options are under consideration for initiation of such charged parking schemes in areas adjoining M A Jinnah Road and I I Chundrigar Road.ÑAPP
