British MP concerned at HR violation by India in held Kashmir

LONDON: Member of the British Parliament Hellen Brinton has expressed grave concern over the flagrant human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir and assured that the Members of the Parliament will play their role in bringing the orgy of death and destruction in the occupied Kashmir to an end.

Addressing a large Kashmir rally at Peter Borough near here she said the All Parties Kashmir Group in the British Parliament is working under a strategy to ensure the grant of right to self-determination to the oppressed Kashmiris so that the Kashmir problem could be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Brinton also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of provocative actions by India involving violations of ceasefire line targetting civilian population of Azad Kashmir.

She said the Kashmiris have a right to determine their political future adding that this inherent right has been recognised by the United Nations Security Council.

She said the Members of the British Parliament will play their fullest possible role to crown the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people with success.

Addressing the rally AJK Prime Minister Sultan Mahmood said India has increased its troops at the ceasefire line and has a plan to indulge in aggression before the visit of US President Bill Clinton to South Asia and defame Pakistan by putting blame on it.

He said the Indian rulers have aggressive designs and warned that a nuclear war in South Asia can break out if the civilised world fails to stop India from pursuing hegemonistic and expansionist agenda. PPI
