ADBP regional managers directed to improve deposits

ISLAMABAD: Regional Manager ADBP, Rawalpindi Islam Khan has directed all the branch managers of the region to improve deposit of the region and issue deposit targets for branches.
Addressing a meeting of the managers, accounts officers and MCOs of the region here today regarding new policy of recovery and disbursement.
He instructed that no suspense entries and audit paras should remain outstanding and the officers concerned would be solely responsible for such lapse.
He laid emphasis on entertaining the genuine borrowers ensuring proper utilisation of loans through effective persuasion.
He added that serving genuine borrowers will not only result in proper utilisation of loan but will also improve recovery position because difficulties arise only due to indiscriminate lending.
He said the new Chairman Mohammad Mian Soomro, during his address to the Regional Managers totally disagreed with the present policy of recovery and disbursement and introduced his new policy of 100 percent recovery of current dues.
Islam Khan said any employee who will show extra ordinary performance in discharging his duties will surely get fair reward and will be considered for accelerated promotion.
He said that employees observed not performing their duties properly will be replaced immediately and no excuse will be accepted and those found involved in malpractice will be dealt severely.
He stressed on all the MCOs to ensure presence in their respective areas as Vigilance Teams of Head Office and recovery teams of Regional Office will make surprise check over them in the field very promptly and any of them found at fault will not be spared.
He also advised the Legal Cell to coordinate their legal adviser and panel advocates promptly for early finalisation of cases pending in various courts.
He informed that the new Chairman was very keen to improve the present structure specially recovery, disbursement, deposit and discipline.
He also informed that the Rawalpindi region secured top position in entire Punjab with 0.5 percent increase in recovery during the preceding year.
He told the meeting that all the five Deputy Commissioners of the region have promised to extend full cooperation in making the recovery operation a success.
