Plea to allow 'visa on arrival' to taiwanese businessmen
MUZAFFAR QURESHI
KARACHI: Pakistani exporters dealing with Taiwan have asked the government to allow visa on arrival to the Taiwanese businessmen, who wish to visit Pakistan in large numbers.
Pakistan Cloth Merchants Association (PCMA) Chairman Iqbal M. Mangrani, said Taiwan was an important trade partner of Pakistan in both the export and import deals. "Our export of cotton yarn, fabrics and other items are increasing manifold with the passage of time and also Taiwan is an important source of supply of raw material for Pakistani industries."
He said at present the Taiwanese businessmen, desirous of visiting Pakistan, have to apply visa through the nearby countries like Thailand and Hong Kong etc., but it takes several weeks to get their passport back due to very lengthy and time-consuming procedure which discourage potential buyers or sellers to visit Pakistan.
