Co-op societies dues payment date extended

LAHORE: Punjab Cooperatives Registrar Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry has extended the last date for payment of dues by the defaulter societies up to June 30.

According to a press release issued by the Punjab Cooperative Bank, now the defaulter cooperative societies can clear their dues outstanding against Kharif 1977 to Rabi 1984-85 by June 30, on the payment of only 30 percent mark-up.

Meanwhile, the societies, which had got loans from the bank on fixed mark-up basis for the Kharif crop 1985 to Rabi 1994-95, may also get fresh loan for the Kharif crop 2000 on the payment of dues by June 30.

Similarly, the societies, which were declared defaulters on non-payment for the Kharif crop 1995 to Kharif Crop 1997, would also be eligible for getting loan, in case they clear their liabilities by June 30, the release added.
