LHC calls for separate petition

LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Allah Nawaz, directed A K Dogar, advocate, to submit a separate petition for calling the record of the special anti-terrorist court proceedings in the aircraft case against deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

A K Dogar, during the course of the proceedings of petitions filed against the detention of Sharif family members, had prayed to the court to call the record of the special court proceedings.

The bench observed that the special court was out of the jurisdiction of the bench, hence, the record of the said court could not be called.

He, however, contended before the bench that the learned court could call the record of the special court and cited different cases in support of his arguments.

The bench, therefore, asked him to submit a separate petition for this purpose.
