LCCI hails amnesty scheme

LAHORE: Ilyas M. Chaudhry, President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Thursday hailed the government decision to give amnesty on the undeclared assets, and 5-year exemption of wealth tax on declared assets.

LCCI president said that the business community would benefit from the scheme and run their business without any fear or apprehensions. The scheme reflects government trust in the business community, he added.

He said that the scheme would not only help legalize assets of business community, but also enable the government to generate much-wanted revenue to steer the country out of crisis.

He urged the government to abolish wealth tax, which was a 'just and long-standing' demand of the chamber.
