Committee to recommend LHC judges, staff pay raise

LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Mian Allah Nawaz, has constituted a three-member committee for recommendations to improve the pay structure/allowances of the subordinate judiciary as well as staff of the LHC.

The committee was constituted following the letter of the Supreme Court wherein the Chief Justice of Pakistan desired that the High Courts may carry out an exercise as to the existing pay scales/allowances permissible to judges and courts staff and submit appropriate proposals in this regard within three weeks.

The Chief Justices of the High Courts were also asked to consider the desirability of ascertaining the views of the provincial governments by calling the meeting of the secretary finance at some appropriate time.
