British woman to be named world's oldest
LONDON: A 114-year-old British woman is to be named the oldest person in the world by the Guinness Book of Records, the BBC reported on Thursday.
Eva Morris lives in the Autumn House Nursing Home in Stone in the English county of Staffordshire, it said.
Morris had a rival -- Elizabeth Israel from the Dominican Republic who said she was 125.
The BBC said researchers had asked Israel for a birth certificate as proof but had been told it was lost. This meant the title went to Morris.
The Guinness Book of Records was not immediately available for comment.-Reuters
