Formation of AJK cabinet demanded

Muzaffarabad: Senior AJK minister Sahibzada Mohammed Ishaq Zaffar on Tuesday demanded the formation of cabinet so that rampant irregularities, and corruption could be stopped in the government departments.

Addressing a news conference here at his office chamber, he said that in last two and half months after the dissolution of cabinet, bureaucrats transferred and promoted their subordinates and recruited their favourites while removing hundreds of employees serving for a decade in govt departments on contract and ad hoc bases.

He said that before the dissolution of cabinet, bureaucracy was pretending that ministers' interference affecting developmental work.

He revealed that development funds are being allocated for the projects of own interests. He said that a grant of Rs one billion provided by chief executive of Pakistan for the eradication of poverty would be spend on masses welfare projects under the supervision of military instead of government departments.

He admitted that AJK government could not provide justice to the masses of liberated territory during its four years tenure in the office.

He regretted that no reform could be done in the government departments in last four years despite many attempts because employees unions were creating hurdles in the way of disciplinary action against the corrupt and unqualified officers and employees.

He requested the chief executive of Pakistan to change present government servant rules so that corrupt and unqualified bureaucrats can be taken to task make accountable the corrupt bureaucrats.

To a questioned he said that formation of cabinet in AJK is must because matters are getting worsen day by day.
