Brazil trade balance turns to surplus March 20-26

BRASILIA: Brazil posted a trade surplus of $192 million in the week of March 20-26, compared with a deficit of $72 million in the week of March 13-19, the Development, Industry and Development Ministry said Monday.

Exports during the period reached $1.155 billion compared with $963 million in imports, the ministry said. In February, Brazil posted a trade surplus of $78 million.

So far in March, Brazil posted a trade surplus of $231 million.

The ministry said average daily exports in the March 20-26 period reached $231 million, compared with average daily exports of $214 million in the week earlier period.

Average daily imports in the March 20-26 period stood at $193 million compared with $228 million in the week-earlier period. -Reuters
