2 cops suspended
for selling liquor
KARACHI: Two police constable identified as Arshad and Mohammad Amjad have been suspended for their involvement in the sale of liquor and narcotics in North Nazimabad area, it was officially stated here on Monday.
The directive was issued by the SSP Central, Sardar Abdul Majeed.
The inquiry in this respect was ordered by the Sindh Chief Secretary, Zubair Kidwai, following publication of a report in this regard in a section of the press.
Inspector Irfan of the Police Complaint Authority, District Central Karachi, conducted an inquiry into the matter and it was revealed that constables Arshad and Mohammad Amjad were found involved in the illegal sale of liquor and narcotics in the jurisdiction of North Nazimabad police station with the facilitation of some people of the area.
The SSP Central informed the Chief Secretary that departmental proceeding is in progress and final report will be submitted after which major punishment may be awarded.ÑAPP
