'New electoral roll will be error-free'

PESHAWAR: Secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission Syed Shakir Shah has said that the new electoral rolls would be error-free and all out efforts would be made to ensure maximum enrollment of qualified voters.

He was addressing a meeting here in the office of provincial Election commissioner.

He said all the necessary facilities had been provided to the registration officers of AJK as well as those appointed all over Pakistan. He urged the officers to work with honesty and devotion to complete this job of national importance within stipulated period.

He also urged the staff engaged in preparation of fresh electoral rolls of AJK to ensure the enrollment of all the eligible Kashmiri nationals by target date i.e. April 30, 2000.

The secretary was briefed by assistant election commissioner Shahzad Ahmed who has been appointed as registration officer for Peshawar.

He apprised the secretary about the entire work done in the area under the jurisdiction.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Election Commissioner Mohammad Sarwar Khan Durrani. APP
