Mian Azhar denies rumours

LAHORE: Mian Mohammad Azhar, former governor and Senior-Vice President of Muslim League has denied the rumours that he wanted a split in the party.

Speaking at an Eid Millan Party on Sunday he said that he believed in unification of the party, but criticised the party of being hijacked by a family and being run on personal whims of certain persons.

He said if his advice to run the party had been followed by the previous rulers, the situation now faced by the party as well as the country would not have emerged.

"I only declared my dissent on the authoritarian way the party was being run and have no personal vendetta against the former prime minister", he maintained.

Mian Meraj Uddin, Haji Abdul Razak, Tariq Aziz, Mian Mohammad Munir, Waheed Naim Chattha and others were present on the occasion.
