KMC to

construct

toilets

in markets

KARACHI: The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC), with the co-operation of All KMC Markets Federation, will construct toilets in 89 markets and shopping centres of the city.

This was decided in a meeting, president by Secretary Local Bodies on Sunday. The meeting was arranged by the KMC to discuss increase in the rents of KMC's markets and shops, etc, to raise its revenue upto Rs 50 million.

The secretary also directed Municipal Commissioners to submit the report of all shops of the KMC and its rent etc. in 15 days.

He further directed commissioners to provide clean drinking water in existing Sabzi Mandi (vegetable and fruit market) and improve sewerage system there.

In the meeting, member of federation demanded to Secretary to appoint honest market inspector in their state offices, who can take care of markets and improve its standard. On the occasion Secretary assured them that all legal problems of the federation would be solved soon.ÑPPI
