KARACHI: A T Fabrics, Faisalabad, beat Afroze Textiles, Karachi by Seven runs and win Basant festival cricket tournament 2000 at Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium here recently.

A T Fabrics batted first and were all out for 149 runs in 24.5 overs. M. Abbas 50, Akber Ali 31 and Ashfaq Ahmed 28 were the main scorers. Khalequllah took 4 wickets for 38 and Haider 3 for 25.

In reply Afroze Textiles failed to reach the target and were all out for 142 runs in 23.4 overs with Khalequllah scoring 43, Haider 27 and Asif 25. Nasir Mehmood took 4 wickets for 29 and Omer 3 for 23. Khalequllah was declared man of the match. Chief guest, provincial Health Minister Dr S M Rab, speaking on this occasion, he said that sports is very necessary for a healthy society. Usman Ali, Zahid Maqbool and Badar Anwar Lari were also spoke on the occasion.
