flay killing of Sikhs

ISLAMABAD: Addressing the Juma congregations in Srinagar and across the occupied valley, representatives of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference APHC vehemently condemned the killing of 35 Sikhs in strongest possible terms and demanded an independent and transparent investigation into this heinous crime.

They said that this merciless bloodshed of un-armed innocent persons was not the killing of a Sikh, a Muslim or a Hindu but it amounted to the death of whole humanity. They said it is a deep-rooted conspiracy aimed at harming the traditional atmosphere of tolerance and brotherhood prevailing in occupied Kashmir.

They said the sagacity and maturity demonstrated by the valiant and discerning people to nip in the bud the devilish and abominable tendencies of the conspiring elements and other agencies harbouring vested interests is exemplary and praiseworthy.

They presented a resolution during the Juma congregations expressing deep sense of sorrow and grief on behalf of Kashmiris and appealing to all sections of society to maintain unity and spirit of brotherhood amongst them.

They welcomed President Clinton's statement pointing out to India that a solution by force of the Kashmir problem was not possible and its negotiated settlement is essential for peace and security in the region.ÑAPP
