Press Information Department has established a media centre to ensure maximum coverage of President Clinton's visit.

Secretary Information and Media Development Ijaz Sarwar said efforts are afoot to ensure maximum media coverage of President Clinton.

Expressing satisfaction on the arrangements made by PID Khawaja said the international as well as national media corps is being provided all modern facilities to send their news offices to their original offices as early as possible.

Answering a question, he said address to Pakistani nation by US President Clinton will be telecast live while arrangements are also being made to ensure live coverage of other events as well.

Principal Information Officer Ashfaq Gondal said 10 ISD telephone lines in addition to five ISD fax lines have been installed by the PTCL.

A computerised Photo-Transmitter has been installed besides providing Internet through 10 computers at the centre.

A number of typewriters have also been provided to facilitate the maximum number of journalists, he said.

The centre will work for two days around the clock, Gondal added.

A large number of mediamen belonging to the national and international news organisations were also present besides senior officials of Press Information Department and official media.ÑAPP
