Action against Abbottabad Public School urged

LAHORE: Abbottonians Old Boys Association has urged the government to take action against the administration of Abbottabad Public School and College on the grounds of irregularities mentioned by the Audit report of the school accounts.

Association President Mian Sharafat Ali, Secretary General, Khurram Nawaz Khan and two other office-bearers addressing a press conference here on Wednesday stated that there were Rs 50 million in the funds of the school but no repair was carried out of the building, swimming pool, basket ball-court and other things.

They stated that 18 staff members out of total 28 had complained to the NWFP Governor about affairs of the school and alleged irregularities by the principal but no action was taken so far.

They stated that on the demand of the association the audit of the school fund was arranged but nine accounts were not shown to the auditors despite their demand by the school administration as mentioned in the audit report.

They said the government should take action according to the audit report against the principal if he was wrong or sack those 18 employees if they had wrongly complained against the principal

As to allegation by the school administration against the association office-bearers that they wanted to purchase the school, they said that they had no such intention and if the principal did not tender apology in 15 days on this allegation they would go to court.
