Borlaug calls

on President

ISLAMABAD: President Rafiq Tarar has said that Pakistan is trying its best to realise self-sufficiency in agriculture and to save huge foreign exchange being spent on it.

He said this while talking to father of Green Revolution, Dr Norman E Borlaug who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.

The president said, there is vast agriculture potential in the country and our farmers are very hardworking. He underlined the need to convey the agriculture research to the farmers in a coordinated manner.

He also praised the services of Dr Norman for the improvement of agriculture production and hoped that his suggestions would be utilised in the country to increase the agriculture production.ÑAPP
