Balochistan govt
takes measures to
check misuse of
official vehicles
QUETTA: Balochistan government has taken strict notice of misuse of official vehicles and adopted measures to check this uncalled for practice.
The Chief Secretary Balochistan while observing that children and relatives of government officials are using the official vehicles for private use, has directed that no official is allowed to take its official vehicle outside his jurisdiction.
Failing compliance of this instruction, the vehicle would be withdrawn and disciplinary action would be initiated against the official responsible.
He has also directed that all relevant papers would be kept in the vehicles and the drivers must keep permission to travel issued by the competent authority. The official vehicles would under no circumstances be used by the children and relatives of the officials concerned. Any vehicle found without papers and permit and being driven by unconcerned persons would be confiscated.
In case any district, division or provincial official needed to take his official vehicle outside his jurisdiction should get permission from the concerned deputy commissioner, commissioner or head of the provincial department.
In case of emergency, post facto permission must be obtained from competent authority. The directive further said that the permission must be signed by concerned secretary if the official is conducting tour on his directive.
The officials using the official vehicles are required to park the vehicles either in the office premises or within the boundary of their residence (whichever is safer).
All official vehicles will be searched at various chains on highways and their papers and permission to proceed would be invariably checked from March 21.
All the deputy commissioners have been directed for form checking teams to implement these directives. Besides, traffic police have also been directed to check the official vehicles.
The deputy commissioners of Lasbela, Zhob, Dera Bugti and Jafferabad have been directed to ensure that no government vehicle whether federal or provincial crosses the provincial limit without permission of the competent authority.ÑAPP
