CE's directive to set up NAB HQs at provincial level

ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive, Gen Pervez Musharraf has directed the setting up of National Accountability Bureau Headquarters at provincial level to accelerate the process of accountability.

He said this while presiding over a two-day Corps Commanders Conference here at GHQ on Monday.

NAB Chairman Lt. General Mohammad Amjad presented updated report on the progress of various cases under investigation and being processed by NAB.

The Chief Executive expressed concern over the slow progress of accountability process by NAB. He, however, appreciated the working of NAB.

The meeting was also briefed by the Corps Commander Lt. General Jamshed Gulazar about the security plan during the visit of President Clinton.

The meeting was informed that foolproof security arrangements have been made, and will be controlled by 10 Corps with the help of local administration. The meeting was further informed about the security measures being taken on March 23.

Earlier, Chairman of NRB, Lt. General Tanvir Hussain Naqvi gave a detailed briefing on 'Devolution of Power' which will be announced by the Chief Executive on March 23.

The conference also reviewed operational preparedness, internal and external security, and situation along the borders, Line of Control and working boundary.
