KARACHI: Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) has registered about 1.5 million workers of 43,000 industrial and commercial organisations.

This was stated by Chairman EOBI, Shaikh Barkatullah, while talking to a 20-member delegation from NIPA, Peshawar, now on a 6-day study visit to Karachi.

Barkatullah informed the delegation that about 0.167 million old age workers or their widows are being paid pension by EOBI regularly every month.

He informed the delegation that international organisations like ILO, UNDP and ISSA have appreciated the EOBI's performance and provided it technical and financial assistance for further improvement in the quality of its services besides training opportunities abroad for further refinement of the working capabilities of its officers.

Chairman EOBI briefed the visitors about the financial assistance being provided to registered workers and their families with the help of charts and slides.ÑAPP
