'Dues payment

to SRTC workers

will be completed

before time'

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Sindh Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) chairman Ibrahim Patel has said that the payment of dues to the workers of the corporation will be completed before the targetted dates.

In a statement issued here recently, he said that it had become possible to pay 85 percent to 90 percent of the outstanding salaries on time, adding that the remaining amount would be paid on the realisation of the sale proceeds of 53 buses and other available resources.

He said an eight-member team of local fund audit was performing its task in SRTC for the last four months for verification of payment and audit of bills of salaries and retirement dues of the workers.

He pointed out that due to the delay in privatisation of SRTC operations, the liabilities on account of salaries, annual increments had further increased up to Rs 15 million.

He, however, said that efforts had been made for timely payment of backlog of salaries and other after adopting necessary formalities.
