25,000-kg sacrificial meat arrives from Saudi Arabia

QUETTA: The first Cargo flight carrying 25,000-kg sacrificial meat from Saudi Arabia arrived here on Saturday for distribution among Afghan refugees.

The sacrificial meat was later despatched to old and new Afghan refugees camps at Saranan through NLC trucks for distribution among over 4,000 Afghan refugee families.

Another cargo flight carrying sacrificial meat is due to arrive in Quetta on Monday for distribution among Afghan refugees.

A representative of Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, A. Mohammad Qadeer Alawan, said in an interview that the Bank has been assisting to provide sacrificial meat to the poor Islamic countries for the last 15 years.

He said this year 5 million kg sacrificial meat is being distributed among the deserving people of 26 Muslim countries.

The Islamic Development Bank representative expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for distribution of sacrificial meat among Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
