Exam invigilation made compulsory for teachers

KARACHI: All the teachers including lecturers, assistant professors and associate professors will perform their invigilation duties and in case of refusal one will be dealt with under the efficiency and discipline (E&D) Rules, 1973.

This was decided at a meeting held in pursuance of directive of Sindh Education Minister Prof Anita Ghulam Ali. The meeting was chaired by Education Secretary Provincial, it was officially announced here on Wednesday.

The meeting decided that the concerned head of an institution would also relieve the defaulters from the institution with the instruction to report to their directorate for further posting under intimation to the chairman of the board concerned.

It was further decided that such teachers would not be given any other assignment of such as vigilance/inspection and paper setting/assessment of scripts etc.

It was observed that the ordinance with regard to stoppage of malpractice issued last year had lapsed. It was suggested that the government may re-issue the ordinance with minor amendments if necessary.

It was further decided that chairmen of all education boards would ensure that no additional seat-list is sent to the centre after issuance of final list which should be sent at least one week before the commencement of examination.

The meeting also decided that monitoring cells will be set up by the respective commissioners in their offices comprising the officers of the commissionerate, examination boards and director of colleges. APP
