Cereals, rice prices fluctuate on seed, grain markets

KARACHI: Cereals and whole rice sectors experienced some variations on Wednesday on seed and grain markets.

On the whole rice sectors, Irri-9 Punjab new rose by Rs. 25 to Rs. 1100. Irri-9 Sindh new was quoted sharply higher at Rs. 1025 and Rs. 1050. Irri-6 Sindh new both types dropped Rs. 10 to Rs. 800 and Rs. 825. Basmati old better type lost Rs. 50 to Rs. 2250.

On the cereals side, Masoor Canada and Australia inferior rose by Rs. 50 to Rs. 2350 and better type gained Rs. 100 to Rs. 2500. Tuver Punjab was quoted down by Rs. 2250 and Rs. 2275. Tuver Burma was quoted at Rs. 2200. Urad Punjab was quoted down at Rs 1025. Urad Burma inferior lost Rs. 30 to Rs. 1030 and better type shed Rs. 10 to Rs. 1060. Wheat old was quoted at Rs. 955 to Rs. 965.
