Five Indian troops
killed in
occupied Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: Five Indian soldiers, including their company commander, were killed during an encounter with Mujahideen at Dalewar Ganderbal, reports Kashmir Media Service (KMS).
According to KMS, this has been confirmed by a spokesman of Al-Badr Mujahideen while giving details of the clash.
In another gun battle at village Suranthal in Surankot, Poonch one Indian soldier Paramjit Singh has been killed and a Captain K. K. Sharma and Sepoy Kalwinder Singh was severely injured. Two Mujahideen also embraced shahadat.
Another report from Budgam says a Mujahid, Abdul Rashid Chauhan got martyred during an encounter at Zaggi Kharian while four persons including three women received injuries. The Mujahideen inflicted heavy casualties on the Indian troops.
At Narqara, Budgam, the Indian troop killed Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Kolgam in a fake encounter. The Indian forces personnel also fired upon an ambulance van when it could not manage to stop when signalled but halted a slight distance away. One Ali Mohammad sitting in the ambulance was killed as a result of the firing.
At Tandi in Rajouri several forces personnel were injured in an ambush by the Mujahideen who broke through the siege after completing their operation.
Later the troops tortured Javed Iqbal and Tanseem Ahmad, sons of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, after arresting them on fake charges. A girl Parveena had to be admitted to the hospital following injuries during the cross-fire at Sapras, Rajouri.
In an extensive crackdown, the Indian forces besieged Sonawar and Butmaloo area in Srinagar and subjected people to violence during house to house search. The arrests among this operation triggered protest demonstrations in the area.ÑAPP
