AJK PM hails

US decision to

name coordinator

on Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD: AJK Prime Minister, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, welcoming the US decision to appoint a special coordinator on Kashmir, on Wednesday said it would be a vital development towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

In a statement he said, with the appointment of Kashmir coordinator the world community will soon come to know how India is perpetrating state terrorism and brutal activities in occupied Kashmir to maintain its occupation.

He said in fact India has no claim over Kashmir but has enforced its unjust authority over the innocent Kashmiris through the development of over 700,000 armed troops in occupied valley, converting it into a military camp.

He said Kashmir has become a flash-point in the world due to Indian rulers' attempts to resolve the issue through force, adding the Sub-Continent is at present confronted with high tension which could at any time cause a disaster in the region.

Barrister Sultan expressed the hope that the US President's forthcoming South Asian visit would help ease tension in the region, adding, this visit might prove an important development for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

He, on behalf of the Kashmiri people, thanked the US President for taking special interest for resolving the Kashmir dispute and expressed the hope that Bill Clinton would play an important role in resolving this dispute in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile talking to various delegations he called for promoting ideological and intellectual unity among the people of Azad Kashmir to confront any possible Indian aggression.

"Indian rulers have aggressive designs in the region and their designs can be thwarted through unity," he said.

He said India has created a war-like situation along the Line of Control and targeting the civilian population.

He said India's hostile activities along the LoC are aimed at segregating the people living in Azad Kashmir from the freedom struggle, adding but the Kashmiris will foil the nefarious Indian designs and continue to play their role in freedom struggle.

Sultan said the people of Azad Kashmir are fully backing the people of occupied Kashmir in their freedom struggle and are committed to render any kind of sacrifice for this purpose.

He said the morale of Kashmiris living in border areas along the LoC is very high and the Indian firing cannot suppress their bravery and strength.

The AJK PM further said the Kashmiris' freedom struggle cannot be halted through force and India will have to give the right of self-determination to Kashmiri people in accordance with the UN resolutions.ÑAPP
