KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced the promotion of 124 officers in different pay groups. The decision came as a pleasant surprise for all those who have been waiting for promotion for almost a decade.

A senior CAA official said that it was the first time that a promotion board under the chairmanship of the Defence Secretary, Lt. Gen. Nasim Rana (Retd) was formed to decide the cases of CAA employees, which were pending adversely affecting the morale of the employees.

The selection Board comprising Mirza Hamid Hasan, Additional Secretary (CP), Establishment Division; Maj. Gen. Shahzada Alam Malik, Additional Secretary-I, Ministry of Defence, and Air Marshal Aliuddin (Retd), Director General, Civil Aviation Authority, has approved the promotion of 16 officers in PG-10 (BPS-19), and 108 officers in PG-9 (BPS-18).
