Education to be
improved thru
innovative
methods: Zubeda
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education and Women Development, Zubeda Jalal has said that quality of education would be improved through innovative methods.
She expressed these views while chairing an Inter-Provincial Education Ministerial meeting held here on Monday.
"Gender disparity will be the major focus area of the new curriculum development," the Minister said.
The meeting reviewed various targets set by the government for implementation in various fields such as literacy and primary education.
The meeting, attended by the Federal Secretary for Education and all provincial ministers and secretaries for education including Azad Kashmir also discussed strategies particularly with a view to mobilising the community in the School Management System.
The meeting called for the revision of curriculum to meet the challenges of 21st century and by providing job related education.
The minister told the meeting that quality education would be improved through innovative methods.
The meeting also discussed in detailed the literacy targets of the next three years and made recommendations of curriculum development.
The meeting also emphasized the need for National Education Assessment System and introduction of National Education Testing Services for streamlining entry to the Higher Education on merit basis.
It was also decided to hold Inter-Provincial Ministerial meeting frequently at least after every three months for better co-ordination and achieving desired results in the field of education.ÑAPP
